On February 5th, it was learned that 11 departments, including the Cyberspace Administration of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly issued the “Implementation Opinions on Improving the Convenience of Digital Services for Overseas Personnel Entry.” The goal is to unblock digital service bottlenecks and pain points for inbound travelers, establish an interconnected, inclusive, and mutually recognized digital service system, and create a more internationalized and convenient digital service environment.
The implementation opinions specify 14 work measures across five areas, including strengthening digital basic services, improving digital payment services, optimizing digital tourism services, enriching digital public services, and enhancing network and data security.
The opinions propose that by 2027, the internationalization and convenience of inbound digital services will be significantly improved, digital basic services will be more smooth and efficient, and bottlenecks in digital applications in areas such as residence, healthcare, payments, tourism, and public services will be basically resolved with comprehensive expansion of application scenarios, injecting strong vitality into expanding high-level opening-up; by 2030, inbound digital services will reach an internationally leading level, with a more mature interconnected, inclusive, and mutually recognized digital service ecosystem, deep integration of full-scenario digital services with international standards, and a significant enhancement in the capacity of high-level digital service openness to promote high-quality economic and social development.
