Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a routine press conference on the 24th.
In response to the Panamanian government forcibly taking over two ports operated by Hong Kong-based Changjiang and Ji Group, Mao Ning stated during the Q&A that China’s position on the port issues in Panama is clear.
“I believe you also noticed that the relevant companies have issued statements indicating they will reserve all rights, including resorting to legal procedures. China will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the companies,” Mao Ning said.
