Wu said that the Ethereum Foundation announced the start of staking some of its treasury funds, in accordance with the treasury policy announced last year. Today, the Foundation deposited 2016 ETH, planning to stake approximately 70,000 ETH, with all staking rewards returned to the Foundation's treasury. The staking uses open-source software Dirk and Vouch (developed by Attestant): Dirk acts as a distributed signer supporting multi-jurisdictional operations without a single point of failure; Vouch supports multi-client pairing, reducing client diversity risk. The Foundation uses a limited number of clients, combined with custodial infrastructure and self-managed hardware, deployed across multiple jurisdictions. The Foundation stated that this move helps ensure the security of the Ethereum network while providing funding for core activities such as protocol development, ecosystem growth, and community support.
