Ministry of Education: Focus on adding new majors in fields such as low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, high-end equipment, urban renewal, and urgent public needs
The Ministry of Education has issued the “Opinions on Deepening the Reform of Key Elements in Vocational Education Teaching,” which proposes: dynamically adjusting program offerings, with a focus on adding new majors in low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, high-end equipment, urban renewal, and urgent public needs; phasing out surplus programs and upgrading existing ones. It emphasizes the scientific design of course combinations, developing lists for new and upgraded courses, creating course capability maps, and strengthening ideological and political education in courses and general education. The presentation of textbooks should be optimized, promoting diverse formats and developing urgently needed textbooks. Teacher capability standards should be detailed, and a dual-flow mechanism for teachers and enterprise talents should be improved. Construction of industry-education integrated internship and training bases should be advanced through enterprise commissions, school-enterprise joint construction, and cluster collaborations, along with the development of standards. The “High-Skilled Talent Cluster Training Program” will be fully promoted, focusing on major strategies and key areas, gathering industry, enterprise, and school resources to form reform clusters, with overall design and systematic promotion of the key elements of vocational education teaching reform. Currently, the Ministry of Education has selected six advanced manufacturing sectors with significant shortages of high-skilled talents—new energy vehicles, advanced rail transit equipment, aerospace equipment, high-end CNC machine tools and robots, agricultural machinery, and next-generation information technology—as the first pilot areas.
