On February 5, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the 2026 New Year Reception. Nearly 500 people, including ambassadors and representatives of international organizations in China, as well as representatives from various Chinese departments, attended. Wang Yi stated that in the new year, the world is becoming more turbulent, and peace and development face severe tests. History has repeatedly shown that division and confrontation are doomed to have no way out; working together is the right choice. China is willing to work with all progressive forces in the world, with the future of humanity in mind and the well-being of the people at heart, to jointly defend peace and the rule of law, promote openness and development, address crises and challenges, deepen understanding and friendship, and make new contributions to building a better world together.
