Beijing has reportedly ordered its largest oil refinery to immediately suspend all exports of diesel and gasoline.
The instructions include:
Ceasing the signing of new export contracts and Cancelling scheduled shipments
This move effectively removes one of the world's largest fuel exporters from the global supply, right at a time when energy market conditions are sensitive.
