Escape Technologies invests $18 million to accelerate AI security innovation
Escape Technologies SAS recently secured $18 million (approximately 2.59 billion KRW) in funding to expand its AI-driven security platform. Founded in 2020, Escape offers an offensive security engineering platform capable of identifying and resolving security issues in real-time environments. The platform uses AI agents that simulate attacker behavior to proactively discover potential vulnerabilities after code deployment.
Escape’s core features include continuously mapping the external attack surface of applications and performing automated security assessments of online services. During this process, AI agents analyze authentication processes, application programming interfaces (APIs), and business logic to identify security weaknesses. These agents are designed to generate remediation guides for detected issues and can be integrated into relevant engineering workflows.
The platform primarily serves security and engineering teams responsible for protecting cloud applications, suitable for API testing, sensitive data exposure detection, and evaluation of business logic vulnerabilities such as insecure direct object references. Currently, over 2,000 security teams worldwide conduct more than 300,000 security assessments monthly using the platform.
This funding round was led by Balderton Capital Management, with existing investors Uncorrelated Ventures, IRIS Software Group, and Y Combinator participating in follow-on investments. Suranja Chandra Thilaka, partner at Balderton Capital, commented, “Escape is helping security teams tackle increasingly complex challenges by creating the world’s first AI-based offensive security platform.”
