SEC May End Mandatory Quarterly Earnings Reports
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is working on a new proposal that may allow companies to report earnings twice a year instead of every 3 months.
The aim is to reduce short-term pressure on companies and help them focus on long-term growth.
But fewer reports could also mean less transparency for investors.
The proposal could be released next month and is not final yet.
Why it matters: This change could affect how investors track companies and make decisions.
