How late did you last spend watching the markets?

The editor's longest session went from when US markets opened all the way through Asian market close, with a two-hour sleep in between. When I woke up, I realized I'd missed a perfect entry point.
That's when the editor started wondering: why does this have to be done by a human?
After OpenClaw integrated with Hyperliquid and Polymarket, we tested the answer to that question. Some things went smoother than expected, while some pitfalls ran deeper than anticipated. This article covers all of it.
Since we've been caught in the rain before, Biteye also wants to hold an umbrella up for you.
I. Installation Steps
To let AI trade for you, just installing OpenClaw isn't enough. It only handles scheduling—the actual trade execution is performed by skills, and for skills to run, you need to feed them the corresponding trading permissions.
This chapter covers installation, configuration, and push notifications all at once. Once configured, you can move directly to Chapter 2 for the practical trading section.
1.1 Install Skill: Find the capabilities you need
For any task you want to complete, you can search and install the required skill at ClawHub using relevant keywords, such as:
hyperliquid skill
polymarket skill
After installation is complete, confirm the skill has been loaded by accessing the local console page: click on skill in the Agent column on the left.
If you can see the newly installed skill, installation was successful.
At this point, some skills will display "Save key," indicating you need to continue configuring the API or private key—this is normal. The next step requires you to fill in the corresponding permission information.
1.2 Configure Trading API: Grant AI order placement permissions
To enable AI to place orders, you must give it trading permissions.
Don't use your main account directly. We recommend opening a separate new account for testing with only a small amount of funds.
Different exchanges have different retrieval methods. Here are two examples.
1️⃣Hyperliquid
Open Hyperliquid → More → API
You can generate an API wallet here with only trading permissions and no withdrawal rights.
Enter the wallet name → click Generate to obtain the API key, and you can customize the authorization duration.
After generating the API wallet, allow the editor to tell you from painful experience: there's no need to transfer any funds into the API wallet address—keep your funds in the main account. (Funds transferred into the API wallet will be lost)
When configuring, you need to fill in two pieces of information: your main account's wallet address (API Key) and the private key displayed when the API wallet was generated (API Secret). The AI signs through the API wallet and operates funds in your main account.
