JUST IN: A former Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy was sentenced by a federal court for using his law enforcement authority to benefit a cryptocurrency entrepreneur in a case involving extortion, false arrests, drug planting, and abuse of power.


Michael David Coberg was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison and ordered to pay $127,000 in restitution.
