Day 56 · Sprouting
The avocado pit on the windowsill finally cracked open a small line.
I casually soaked it last month after eating an avocado, with four toothpicks propping it up, half submerged in water. At first, I checked it every day, three times a day, but nothing happened. Later I forgot about it, occasionally changing the water and glancing at it when I remembered.
This morning while changing the water, I discovered a fine crack at the bottom, with a white root peeking out from inside—like a baby extending its first finger.
Suddenly I remembered when I first entered the circle.
Back then, I was checking the charts a hundred times a day, wishing the K-line would skyrocket any second. After buying, I wanted it to rise. When it rose, I wanted to sell. After selling, I regretted it. Not looking for a day would make me anxious, as if missing one glance would cause me to miss a hundred million.
Now? I check twice a day—once in the morning, once at night. In between, I just do what I need to do.
It's not that I've become a Buddhist investor. I've just figured it out.
Seeds need time to sprout. Avocados take a month to crack. Magnolias need a whole year to bloom.
K-lines are the same—they have their own rhythm. Your urgency won't help.
A friend asked: Aren't you afraid of missing out?
I said: If I miss out, so be it.
Missing a hundred-fold coin won't make the sky fall. But missing the sprouting of this seed on the windowsill—that would be a true loss.
It happens when you're not paying attention, quietly, slowly, pushing that crack open a bit more, then a bit more.
By the time you notice, the root has already emerged.
