🇺🇸🇮🇷 Breaking: Trump announces a 5-day pause on strikes against Iran's energy facilities, claiming "productive US-Iran dialogue"

Trump just posted on Truth Social stating that the United States and Iran have had "very good and productive dialogue" over the past two days. He has instructed the Defense Department to suspend all military strikes against Iran's power plants and energy infrastructure for 5 days—contingent on the success of ongoing talks.

Trump had previously demanded that Iran open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, threatening to "destroy" its power plants otherwise. Now, just as the deadline has passed, he has suddenly signaled de-escalation.

However, Iran quickly denied this: there has been no direct communication or mediation with the United States.

Meanwhile, Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan are acting as intermediaries, attempting to mediate between the US and Iran. However, Iran's armed forces previously issued a clear warning: if power plants are attacked, they will completely shut down the Strait of Hormuz.

Market reaction: Following Trump's statement, international oil prices plummeted by over 14%, with Brent crude dropping below $96 per barrel.

A 5-day window—will it lead to de-escalation or is this the calm before the storm?
