There are reports that Zack Wheeler might finally make his return. Last summer, he underwent thoracic outlet syndrome surgery due to a shoulder blood clot, so honestly, it was uncertain what would happen. However, GM Don Broussard says he might be back by the end of spring training. If that happens, he’s expected to be able to pitch definitely by late May.

Regarding Zack Wheeler’s return timing, the doctors seem quite optimistic. Before surgery, he had a 10-5 record with a 2.71 ERA, so having an ace-level pitcher back is really huge. Some pitchers, like Matt Harvey, couldn’t fully recover from similar issues, but Wheeler’s case appears to be different.

Broussard said, “He’s more optimistic than when I first heard,” and if Wheeler and Christopher Sanchez can be the two main starters for the 2026 season, that’s great news for Phillies fans. It looks like rehab will start next week, and everyone’s watching closely to see if he really makes it back.
