Recently, the variety of dating apps has really increased, so I think many people are confused about which one to choose. I’ve tried several myself, but ultimately I feel that the major ones are the most stable.

First of all, having a large user base is definitely a strength. Pairs and Tapple each have over 20 million members, making it easier to find someone you like. Especially Pairs has a lot of beginner-friendly features, like notifications when there's mutual interest for a date, and a call function, which are very considerate. Women can use it for free, and men pay around 4,100 yen per month, so if you're serious about finding love, it’s not a bad investment.

Also, when choosing a dating app, safety is important. It’s a good idea to check how much each app monitors activity—whether they have 24-hour supervision or facial recognition requirements. Pairs and with are facial recognition required, so there are probably fewer suspicious users.

If you’re cost-conscious, Tapple is a good option. It costs about 3,700 yen per month and has over 23 million members, which is pretty good. Surprisingly, マリッシュ and Omiai also have rich features but are cheaper. However, since their user bases are smaller, the chances of meeting someone are lower compared to the major apps.

The most important thing when choosing a dating app is whether it fits your purpose. Are you mainly looking for love, marriage, or remarriage? Even within the same type of app, the quality and atmosphere of members can vary quite a bit, so trying out multiple apps is the most reliable way to find the right one.
