Bitmine just bought 71,252 ETH in a single week
That is roughly $151 million worth of Ethereum accumulated while most of retail was watching the market bleed.
This is not a one-off trade. Bitmine now holds 4,803,334 ETH total, which is 3.98% of Ethereum's entire circulating supply. One company. Nearly 4% of ETH. That number should make you pause.
What makes this more interesting is the staking side. They have 3,334,637 ETH locked into their MAVAN validator network, valued at $7.1 billion, generating around $196 million in annualized staking revenue at a 2.78% yield. This is not speculation. This is yield-generating infrastructure at institutional scale.
The week ending April 5 was their highest single-week buying pace since late December 2025. Tom Lee, the chairman, is on record confirming the strategy and the pace. They are not slowing down.
The part worth sitting with is this. While the market was pricing in fear and macro uncertainty, a NYSE-listed company was running the largest ETH accumulation program anyone has seen at this scale. They are not trading ETH. They are building a staking business around it.
MicroStrategy made Bitcoin the institutional treasury story of the last cycle. Bitmine seems to be writing the same playbook for Ethereum this time around.
