SEC commissioner supports Trump's plan to end the crackdown on Crypto Assets
Republican SEC Commissioner Mark Uchida hopes to help President-elect Donald Trump fulfill his promise to end the so-called encryption war initiated by the Biden administration.
Since 2022, Uyeda, who has been working on the committee, and may become vice president when Trump takes over in January, told FOX Business that a clear path for future Trump administration agencies will be to suspend new sanctions on unregistered companies until there are clear rules.
Ueyda said: "The committee should stop fighting against Crypto Assets, including cryptocurrency sanctions taken based on unregistered charges, not just charges of fraud or loss. President Trump and American voters have sent a clear message. The role of the SEC is to fulfill this responsibility starting in 2025."
