In 2018, Max taught graduate students at Columbia University. When teaching an artificial intelligence course, the students needed to complete a project that required training an AI agent. Due to the high cost of traditional cloud services, the students faced difficulties. To address this issue, Max came up with the idea of creating the Decentralization AI platform 'OORT': initially, they explored using Block as an incentive layer to connect globally underutilized Nodes, built a preliminary prototype of a Decentralization cloud solution, and began experimenting with using PayPal for payments and credit allocation, laying the foundation for the birth of the native Token of OORT. Today, OORT has become a leader in DeAI, combining Block validation with a global network of data centers and edge devices to design the most advanced artificial intelligence infrastructure. Faced with the current problem of missing AI training data, OORT connects them by utilizing globally underutilized Nodes and using Block to collect data globally. To incentivize participation and solve the problem of cross-border micro payments, OORT came up with the idea of using Cryptocurrency for payments, thus building a unique business model. Its subsidiary product, OORT DataHub, was launched on December 11th, primarily addressing data collection and labeling bottlenecks, with clients ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to some of the world's top technology companies. The product's Decentralization features truly achieve global, diverse, and transparent data collection, enabling global data contributors to easily earn bonuses using Cryptocurrency while Block technology ensures that data sources and usage records are on-chain, effectively addressing many pain points faced by Web2 cloud services and AI companies. As of the time of writing, OORT DataHub has received data uploads from over 80,000 contributors worldwide.
