ETF Market News: US ETFs Hit Record $1.4 Trillion Inflows in 2025

⬤ The US exchange-traded fund market is wrapping up an absolutely massive year, with every major metric breaking records in 2025. US-listed ETFs have already pulled in $1.4 trillion in net inflows year-to-date—that’s $300 billion more than any previous full year and more than double what we saw in 2023. The numbers show ETF adoption is accelerating fast across all types of assets.

⬤ Trading activity went through the roof too. Total ETF trading volume hit $57.9 trillion so far this year, which is $630 billion higher than all of 2024 combined. New ETF launches reached 1,100 year-to-date—an all-time record and a 123% jump from 2023. Bloomberg Intelligence’s chart makes it crystal clear: 2025 is setting new highs across launches, flows, and trading activity all at once.

The last time all three metrics set records in the same year was 2021, highlighting just how rare it is for the ETF industry to hit simultaneous peaks across launches, inflows, and volume.

⬤ These figures show the ETF market is expanding in both variety and scale—more funds available, way more trading happening. ETFs are taking up more space in capital markets, influencing liquidity, how money gets allocated, and overall trading patterns. The combination of record inflows, volume, and launches in 2025 signals serious structural demand for ETF products and shows how much influence the ETF ecosystem now has in the broader financial world.
