深潮 TechFlow 消息，12 月 1 日，据 Dlnews 报道，巴西联邦法院判决 14 人因使用 Bitcoin 洗钱超过 9500 万美元的毒品交易和绑架犯罪利润。两名主犯被判处超过 21 年监禁，其中一人为监狱安全官员，其余 12 人被判处 10 至 17 年不等的监禁。
该犯罪集团自 2019 年 4 月至 2024 年 7 月在米纳斯吉拉斯州和巴拉那州运营，主要功能是隐藏跨境毒品交易和暴力犯罪所得资产的性质、来源、流向和所有权，包括里约热内卢绑架案的赎金。调查显示，该集团使用 Bitcoin 和其他加密货币为更大的犯罪网络洗钱，通过虚假税务识别号码、虚假会计记录和多家空壳公司运营"会计部门"，并伪装从事食品贸易、畜牧业、奢侈品和泳装等行业。
