Am 17. Februar erklärte der slowakische Ministerpräsident Fizo, dass EU-Beamte nicht befugt seien, an den Pariser Gesprächen am Montag teilzunehmen, bei denen die Rolle Europas beim Waffenstillstand in der Ukraine diskutiert wird. Fizo sagte auch, dass die Diskussion nichts mit der EU zu tun habe und dass ihre Teilnahme das Vertrauen der EU beschädigt habe. Fizo sagte in einer Erklärung, dass die Frage der Stationierung von Truppen in der Ukraine nur durch die UNO oder durch ein bilaterales Protokoll gelöst werden könne, “dies ist ein Thema, das nichts mit der EU zu tun hat und nicht kommentiert werden sollte”. ”
