Thirteen years ago, when blockchain was still an uninhabited wilderness, a small site called Bit儿 quietly launched, becoming a landing place for some of the earliest explorers. Back then, there was no noise, no crowding—only a group of people who believed in “decentralization,” silently writing code behind the scenes and matching orders.
Thirteen years later, that small site changed its name—Gate. The name changed, but the door didn’t close. From Bit儿 to Gate.io, and then to today’s great gate, every renaming is not a goodbye, but the opening of a bigger door.
50 million users walked in, 4,500 kinds of assets found their markets here, a Bitcoin reserve ratio of 147%, and a total reserve ratio of 122%—behind these numbers is a promise that has never wavered for thirteen years: your assets—I’ll keep them safe for you.
In these thirteen years, the industry has gone through too much. Bull-market revelry, winter in the bear market, waves of regulation, technological iterations… how many platforms have vanished over cycles, and how many names have been forgotten. Yet Gate chose the hardest path—not chasing speed, but pursuing the long term. Dr. Han said in a public letter, “We are committed to building something that lasts.” This line sounds simple, but in an industry where people chase hot topics every day, the resolve to last is itself a kind of courage.
This year’s anniversary celebration is titled “Your Gateway to iWeb3.” This is not just a slogan—it’s a direction. AI is reshaping the way trading is done, TradFi is bridging the boundary between traditional finance and digital worlds, and Web3 is moving from concept to everyday life. Gate isn’t standing on the shore watching—GateAI, Gate for AI, GateRouter, GateClaw. These names aren’t a product list; they’re signposts to the future. The partnership with the Red Bull Racing team isn’t only a brand collaboration—it symbolizes an attitude: on the track, speed and steadiness are equally important.
And what I want to say most are the things that don’t appear in press releases—customer service replying to user messages at 3 a.m., every feedback and complaint treated seriously, every time the market crashes yet the system doesn’t go down, every asset kept safe and protected.
Thirteen years—Gate’s greatest achievement is not scale, not rankings, but trust. Trust is the most expensive asset, and also the most fragile. It takes thirteen years to build, yet only a second to collapse. And Gate has held on.
