On April 8, Jin10 reported that, according to Iranian official media, Iran and the United States plan to hold talks in Oman this Saturday (April 12). The representative from Iran is Foreign Minister Zarif, while the representative from the U.S. is Middle East envoy Hook. Currently, the statements from Iran and the U.S. regarding this meeting are not quite consistent. Zarif confirmed earlier today (April 8) that Iran and the U.S. will hold “indirect high-level talks.” Meanwhile, U.S. President Trump insisted on April 7 afternoon local time that “the U.S. is engaged in direct talks with Iran, the talks have begun and will continue on Saturday.”
