Important Announcement: Changes to Our Services for EU Clients

As you may aware, Gate.MT is licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority (“MFSA”) as a Class 4 Virtual Financial Assets (“VFA”) Services Provider to operate as a VFA exchange and provide custodian or nominee services. Gate.MT has officially launched in March 2023 in Malta. Currently Gate.MT has submitted its application to MFSA for its MiCA license to continue carrying out its services.

As part of our commitment to regulatory compliance and operational excellence, Gate.io is implementing changes to its services for users based in the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA).

From 15 March 2025 at 00:00 UTC onwards, Gate.io will cease the onboarding of any new EU/EEA-based users and Gate.MT will continue as the gateway for EU/EEA-based users to explore the crypto journey.

Should any EU/EEA-based users intend to open an account with Gate.MT and transfer their positions to Gate.MT, Gate.io will provide the necessary assistance to facilitate this arrangement.
