Jin10 data April 26 - U.S. media reports that the U.S. government’s tariff policy will lead to significant price increases for inexpensive basic clothing in the U.S., raising certain consumers’ expenditures. According to CNN, 98% of clothing items in the U.S. depend on imports. An analysis by Yale University’s budget laboratory indicates that due to the tariff policy, clothing prices in the U.S. may rise by 65% in the coming year, and shoe prices could increase by up to 87%. Among these, inexpensive basic clothing items such as T-shirts, which many American consumers favor at just a few dollars each, are hit hardest by the tariffs.
