EigenLayer has just announced a new platform called EigenCloud, aimed at bringing authenticity and transparency to both blockchain and traditional applications. EigenCloud allows for the verification of on-chain and off-chain data, supporting the development of applications such as insurance, gaming, prediction markets, and verifiable AI.
EigenCloud integrates tools such as EigenDA, EigenVerify, and EigenCompute, while allowing users to stake EIGEN to secure and earn rewards.
VC Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has invested an additional 70 million USD in EIGEN to support this new platform, bringing the total investment to 170 million USD. However, the price of EIGEN has currently plummeted to 1.15 USD – losing more than 80% compared to the peak in December 2024.
