Former DigitalMint employee investigated for allegedly profiting from ransomware ransom.

Gate News bot message, Bloomberg reported that the U.S. Department of Justice has launched an investigation into a former employee of the cryptocurrency payment company DigitalMint. This former employee allegedly reached a private agreement with hackers during the handling of a ransomware incident, profiting illegally from the ransom paid by the victims.

DigitalMint, a well-known Bitcoin ATM operator in the United States, has announced the immediate termination of its employment relationship with the employee. The company stated that it is not the subject of the investigation and is actively cooperating with the Department of Justice’s inquiry.
