According to Decrypt, the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) has fined Bitcoin ATM operator Coinhub $675,000 for charging excessive fees to customers. The fine includes $105,000 to reimburse California consumers who were charged above the maximum limit for using cryptocurrency ATMs. This is the fourth time the regulator has taken enforcement action against cryptocurrency ATM operators that they describe as profiting at the expense of consumers.
