On November 10th, BOB announced a partnership with leading institutional-grade cryptocurrency platform Anchorage Digital to open its Bitcoin DeFi gateway to institutional investors.

BOB will select Anchorage Digital as its preferred custody provider to accelerate its mission of bringing native Bitcoin DeFi to institutions through secure infrastructure. This move comes just weeks after BOB integrated LayerZero, which unlocked native BTC access across 11 major blockchain systems including Ethereum, Avalanche, Base, and BNB Chain.

Opening institutional access marks a significant step forward in BOB’s mission to unlock the true utility of the world’s most important digital asset—Bitcoin. The partnership will provide a secure entry point for institutional investors and leverage Anchorage Digital’s institutional-grade custody infrastructure to accelerate the development of Bitcoin DeFi.

Over the past 18 months, the total locked value (TVL) in genuine Bitcoin DeFi has surged from $200 million to over $8 billion, but this still accounts for only 0.3% of Bitcoin’s market cap, highlighting the enormous growth potential of the Bitcoin DeFi market. Meanwhile, institutional investors’ interest in Bitcoin is shifting from passive investment infrastructure to active participation in Bitcoin DeFi activities to generate yields. To meet this demand, BOB will provide a sufficiently secure channel for institutional investors to access its Bitcoin DeFi ecosystem, which has a TVL of over $250 million—currently the safest and most convenient way to earn yields on Bitcoin.

Anchorage Digital will support its institutional clients’ custody needs for BOB through the following channels:

  • Anchorage Digital Bank NA – the only federally chartered crypto bank in the United States;
  • Anchorage Digital Singapore – a major payment institution licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS);
  • Porto by Anchorage Digital – an institutional-grade self-custody wallet built with Anchorage Digital’s security technology.

BOB co-founder Alexei Zamyatin stated, “We are excited to partner with Anchorage Digital to provide a trusted platform for leading institutions to access BOB. Our vision is to place Bitcoin at the core of DeFi, offering the safest way for institutions and retail investors to earn yields on BTC. BOB’s hybrid public chain architecture combines the strengths of Bitcoin and Ethereum. This means every step of a user’s participation in Bitcoin DeFi is secured by billions of dollars worth of staked Bitcoin, including depositing native BTC, deploying DeFi projects on BOB, and even bridging to other smart contract chains. This is the level of security top institutions seek for Bitcoin yields. Anchorage Digital creates an important gateway for institutions to access BOB’s $250 million TVL DeFi ecosystem, providing reliable asset support and becoming a trusted partner for institutions.”

Nathan McCauley, CEO of Anchorage Digital, said, “We are at the beginning of a Bitcoin DeFi revolution, with innovators like BOB expanding Bitcoin’s role beyond just a store of value. As smart contract functionality matures, it combines Bitcoin’s security with new utility, unlocking new applications and opening the door for institutions and holders to participate meaningfully. We are honored to provide full-stack solutions to teams like BOB to help them launch and grow their projects.”

This collaboration with Anchorage Digital continues a series of major milestones for BOB, including launching the first hybrid ZK rollup, securing $21 million from top-tier investors, and launching native Bitcoin DeFi applications on testnet in partnership with Lombard, Amber Digital, and RockawayX via its BitVM bridge. Additionally, BOB recently integrated LayerZero, enabling one-click access to native Bitcoin across 11 chains.

Institutional users can access BOB through Anchorage Digital’s custody platform and self-custody wallet Porto, leveraging industry-leading security mechanisms such as multi-signature approval, Hardware Security Modules (HSM), advanced biometric technology, and behavioral analytics.

BTC 15-minute sharp decline of 0.90%: liquidity gap area and macro risk aversion resonate, triggering short-term selling pressure

On March 5, 2026, from 16:00 to 16:15 (UTC), Bitcoin (BTC) experienced a -0.90% return within a short time window, with the price ranging from 70,800.8 to 71,653.9 USDT, and an amplitude of 1.19%. This anomaly occurred amid heightened market attention, with volatility significantly increasing, investor sentiment turning cautious, and trading volume and on-chain activity remaining high, intensifying short-term trading pressure. The main driver of this anomaly is that BTC is in a "gap zone" — meaning liquidity above 72,000 USDT is extremely thin, with only about 1% of circulation.
