Ripple’s latest hiring drive marks a pivotal acceleration for XRPL, signaling a bold push to scale institutional on-chain adoption, deepen programmability, and fortify the high-performance blockchain infrastructure driving the next era of global value movement.

Ripple Expands XRPL Engineering Teams With New Roles Driving On-Chain Finance

Ripple has posted new engineering openings, seeking developers to help bring financial institutions fully on-chain to XRP Ledger (XRPL). The company framed the roles as part of a broader build-out of high-performance blockchain infrastructure and technical capabilities across its ecosystem.

“We’re hiring at RippleX and bringing financial institutions fully on-chain to XRP Ledger (XRPL),” J. Ayo Akinyele, head of engineering at RippleX, said on social media platform X on Nov. 24. He added:

The world’s financial infrastructure is being rebuilt in real time, and XRPL is positioned to power the next generation of global value exchange.

“We’re designing the backbone of on-chain financial primitives — and reimagining what a sustainable, high-performance blockchain can unlock for institutions, developers, and millions of users,” he noted. These comments highlighted Ripple’s push to expand programmability, introduce WebAssembly features, and support more complex decentralized applications.

Akinyele mentioned two open roles: Senior Software Engineer (C++) and Senior Software Engineer (C++/Rust). Ripple said the C++ position in New York focuses on advancing XRPL’s scalability, performance, reliability, and broader ledger functionality. Duties include lifecycle development, architecture input, C++ feature work, debugging, performance checks, and participation in XRPL code reviews. The firm added that candidates should have more than five years of C++ experience, a bachelor’s degree in computer science, distributed systems expertise, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

The Senior Software Engineer (C++/Rust) role targets XRPL programmability and smart contract expansion, including maintaining core ledger components and supporting WebAssembly virtual machine integration. Ripple said the position requires C++ and Rust proficiency, WebAssembly runtime experience, architectural engagement, system design documentation, and open-source stewardship. The company listed a New York salary range of $152,000 to $190,000 for both roles, noting that XRPL’s reliability, low transaction costs, and performance could enhance global settlement processes even as critics point to regulatory considerations.
