Bulgaria, which previously "sold" 213,500 Bitcoin, officially joins the Eurozone

PANews January 1 News, European Central Bank President Lagarde stated that Bulgaria has officially joined the Eurozone as the 21st member country, which also means that the number of decision-makers on the European Central Bank Governing Council has increased to 27. Bulgarian Central Bank Governor Radhev said that joining the Eurozone is not just an economic decision, nor just a currency choice. Bulgaria previously seized and sold a batch of confiscated Bitcoin in 2018, totaling approximately 213,500 coins, which were sold for only $3.5 billion at the time. Now, the market value of this batch of Bitcoin has exceeded the country’s total public debt.
