Data from Arkham Intelligence shows that cryptocurrency wallets believed to be linked to the US government have moved over 225 million USD in USDT. This amount is believed to be assets seized in “pig butchering” scams(fattened and then slaughtered), an increasingly common scam in the crypto space.
Notably, the value of USDT transferred matches the large-scale seizure announcement by the US Department of Justice(DOJ) in June 2025. At that time, DOJ confirmed control over more than 225 million USD in stablecoins, related to large-scale cryptocurrency scams, and this is also considered the largest seizure of digital assets in US history.
According to court records, the US Secret Service and FBI tracked hundreds of thousands of transactions, uncovering a sophisticated money laundering network with over 400 victims worldwide. Amid this, USDT – the largest stablecoin in the market – still maintains a capitalization of over 187 billion USD, despite the global crypto market facing correction pressures.
