Barclays Bank invests in stablecoin clearing platform Ubyx

PANews January 7 News, according to Cointelegraph, Barclays Bank (Barclays) has made its first investment in a company related to stablecoins — the U.S. stablecoin clearing platform Ubyx, though the specific scale of the investment was not disclosed. Ryan Hayward, Head of Digital Assets and Strategic Investments at Barclays, stated: “As the fields of tokens, blockchain, and wallets continue to develop, specialized technology will play a key role in providing connectivity and infrastructure, helping regulated financial institutions achieve seamless interaction. This investment aligns with Barclays’ approach to exploring opportunities based on new digital currencies such as stablecoins.” Earlier in June last year, stablecoin startup Ubyx completed a $10 million seed round funding, led by Galaxy Ventures.
