Zcash Development Team CEO: Bootstrap has deviated from its mission, and the development team was forced to resign collectively. They will establish a new company to continue maintaining Zcash.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that Josh Swihart, CEO of the Zcash (ZEC) development team Electric Coin Company (ECC), posted on X stating: “The past few weeks have clearly shown that the majority of the ECC Board of Directors, especially Zaki Manian, Christina Garman, Alan Fairless, and Michelle Lai (ZCAM), have significantly deviated from Zcash’s mission. Yesterday, due to the alleged dismissal of ZCAM, the entire ECC team collectively resigned. In short, our employment terms were unilaterally modified, preventing us from performing our duties effectively and with integrity. We are establishing a new company, but we remain the same team with the same mission — building unstoppable privacy coins. The key point is that the Zcash protocol itself is unaffected. This decision is solely to protect the team’s work from malicious governance actions — actions that have rendered ECC unable to fulfill its original mission.”

Odaily Note: In 2020, after most shareholders chose to donate their shares, the Zcash development company Electric Coin Company (ECC) began transitioning to a non-profit structure through Bootstrap.
