Wintermute CEO: Has shifted from "casting-net investments," with a project investment approval rate of only 4% in 2025

BlockBeats News, January 8 — Evgeny Gaevoy, founder and CEO of Wintermute, stated that we have evolved from the “shotgun investment” approach of 2021–2022 to a current project approval rate of only 4%. In 2025, Wintermute Ventures completed 23 investments, mainly leading pre-seed and seed rounds. The investments are not for obtaining market-making (MM) authorization and are completely independent of trading operations.

Wintermute Ventures announced that in 2025, approximately 600 companies were reviewed, with 20% entering formal due diligence and 4% of projects receiving funding. The most common financing structures in 2025 were equity / SAFE and token equity. They tailor the most suitable financing and investment structures based on the founders’ long-term vision for the project.
