Hong Kong police arrest two suspects involved in a 58 million yen currency exchange shop robbery case

Odaily Planet Daily reported that a robbery occurred near a currency exchange shop on Des Foe Road Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong yesterday. A total of 58 million yen was stolen. Hong Kong police announced that the case has been solved, with two suspects, aged 27 and 51, both Japanese nationals. They were recently arrested at Hong Kong Airport. Both are employees of a Japanese currency exchange shop. The suspects planned to exchange 190 million yen (worth approximately 5.88 million HKD). During the incident, one suspect snatched the other’s backpack containing 58 million yen. Hong Kong police quickly identified the suspects using surveillance footage and ultimately arrested the two Japanese nationals involved in the robbery and their accomplice. (Hong Kong 01)
