Since its release on June 13, Bitmap Theory has captured the attention of the Ordinals community, sparking an inscription frenzy. According to the official blog of Bitmap Theory, “Using a Bitmap, any block on the Bitcoin blockchain can be inscribed, making it an integral part of the Metaverse. The platform can parse this block data as 3D realm, and grant build access to block owners, thereby creating a new paradigm for open source development".

Enthusiasts were quick to claim ownership of historical blocks, such as the first block mined by Binance, which contained important transactions from the Silk Road era. The excitement and demand even prompted some to sell blocks for as much as 0.1 BTC.

In just six days, .bitmap climbed from nonexistent to number two on the list, surpassing the .btc domain with over 190,000 inscriptions in the past week.
