Saga’s first phone did not attract attention at the time of its release, but by the end of the year, all phones were sold. Received more than 25 thousand orders in the first 24 hours
The phone, whose technical details are not yet clear and is available for pre-order, is selling out quickly. Solana Mobile announced that they reached their 7-day sales target in the first 24 hours. Raj Gokal, the co-founder of Solana, said that they received more than 25,000 pre-orders within the first 24 hours of making the announcement, and that they exceeded 30,000 orders as of 30 hours. On the other hand, it took almost a year to cross the 20,000 threshold in the first phone.
The phone, which will ship from the first half of 2025, will be based on Android, will host a built-in cryptocurrency wallet, and will be able to run dApps. 30 million BONK tokens were distributed free of charge to the owners of the first phone. Although the value of these tokens was very small at first, it was as high as $800 as a result of the huge price rise in BONK. The BONK was not the only reward distributed to phone users. Afterwards, different airdrops were also made. This airdrop frenzy caused the price of Saga to reach up to $5k on eBay.
Airdrop expectations affect demand
The biggest factor behind the huge demand for the second phone is the expectations of airdrops. According to the information, users of the new device will also be rewarded, but it has not yet been announced what these rewards will be. On the other hand, a referral link will be defined for customers who link their wallet and X accounts, and each pre-order placed through this link will allow them to climb the leaderboard on the Solana Mobile website.
