The National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR), a conservative think tank in the United States, proposed that Microsoft invest in #BTC. On October 24, 2024, the organization suggested to the Microsoft board of directors that the company invest at least 1% of its total assets in BTC to hedge against inflation and protect shareholder value.

A day after NCPRP proposed this suggestion, on October 25, 2024, MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor suggested on social media that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella should research BTC investment to help Microsoft shareholders earn another trillion dollars.

And Michael Saylor, like Microsoft, also took the recommendation of NCPPR. In fact, Michael Saylor had tried to discuss privately with Satya Nadella, but did not get accepted.

So Michael Saylor’s explanation was not invited by Microsoft, but Microsoft accepted the proposal from the investors. Of course, whether there was lobbying from BlackRock is another matter. In fact, the probability of passing this time is quite low. I personally give a probability of 30%, which is relatively optimistic.
