On December 29, 2024, former US President Jimmy Carter passed away at the age of 100. According to CNN, US President Biden announced that in commemoration of Carter, a state funeral will be held in Washington, D.C. Biden stated in a statement, ‘To honor this great American, I will order an official state funeral to be held in Washington, D.C.’
