According to a statement from cryptocurrency journalist Eleanor Terrett, the SEC’s Cryptocurrency Task Force, which operates as a cryptocurrency, will hold a roundtable meeting with crypto industry leaders on Friday, March 21.
Terrett reported that he obtained this information from his own insider sources. However, the SEC recently confirmed the meeting in its statement and gave details about the meeting, which will last approximately 4 hours.
The talks, which will be held in series of meetings, not a single meeting, are officially named “Sprint Towards Crypto Clarity( )Spring Spring Run Towards Clarity in Cryptos”.
According to Terrett, the topic of the first meeting will be the “definition of securities classification,” which greatly affects cryptocurrencies.
“I look forward to leveraging the public’s expertise in developing a workable regulatory framework for crypto,” said Commissioner Hester M. Peirce, who leads the Crypto Task Force, adding: “Roundtables are an important part of our interaction with the public.”
