A CEX user may have fallen victim to a social engineering attack, resulting in a loss of $18.2 million

Gate News message. On March 31, on-chain investigator ZachXBT monitoring showed that a certain CEX user may have been hit by a social engineering attack, with losses of about $18.2 million. The attacker began the operation about 45 minutes earlier, using a SafePal wallet to move assets from the Ethereum network to the Bitcoin network via the decentralized cross-chain protocol THORChain.
