Gate News: On March 18, AI cybersecurity startup RunSybil completed a $40 million funding round led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from S32, Anthropic’s Anthology Fund, Menlo Ventures, Conviction, Elad Gil, and angel investors associated with OpenAI, Palo Alto Networks, Stripe, Google, and other companies. RunSybil uses an AI agent called “Sybil” to continuously perform automated penetration testing on enterprise online applications without human involvement, capable of discovering, exploiting, and recording security vulnerabilities in real operational environments. The company was founded in 2023 by former OpenAI security researcher Ari Herbert-Voss and former Meta offensive security lead Vlad Ionescu. It currently serves some startups, undisclosed financial institutions, and Fortune 500 companies.
