Gate News message, April 21 — A 40-year-old crypto industry professional in Saint-Jean-de-Védas, near Montpellier, France, thwarted an armed robbery attempt at his home. The suspect, disguised as a delivery person, entered the residence and demanded the victim hand over cryptocurrency wallet private keys. The victim overpowered the attacker and seized the gun during the struggle; gunshots were fired but no one was injured. The suspect fled the scene.
Police apprehended the suspect after a three-day manhunt. Local courts have charged him with attempted armed robbery, and prosecutors suspect he may have been acting under direction from an unidentified mastermind.
