Gate News message, April 17 — Dubai unveiled the world’s first integrated air taxi vertiport on April 16, marking a significant step in the United Arab Emirates’ development of advanced and sustainable urban mobility systems. Located near Dubai International Airport, the vertiport spans approximately 3,100 square meters across four floors and features two dedicated electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft platforms with parking facilities.
The facility is designed to accommodate approximately 170,000 passengers annually and is being developed with the support of Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum. Commercial air taxi operations are scheduled to launch by the end of 2026.
According to plans, four vertiports will be operational by end of 2026, including facilities at Dubai International Airport, downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, and Dubai Marina.
