Fluent Launches Ethereum Layer 2 Mainnet and BLEND Token with $50M Day-One Liquidity

ETH-0,37%
PUMP-1,9%

Gate News message, April 24 — Fluent, an Ethereum-based Layer 2 network, activated its mainnet and native BLEND token on Friday, launching with $50 million in committed day-one liquidity. The network features a “blended execution” environment that enables applications written for different virtual machines to operate within the same chain state.

Fluent’s architecture uses rWasm, a low-level intermediate representation, to simulate EVM, SVM, and Wasm behaviors for execution. Unlike traditional multiVM approaches that keep environments separate, blended execution merges disparate virtual machines into a cohesive system with shared state management. Seven applications went live at launch, including Vena (a reputation-based lending protocol), Yumi (a buy-now-pay-later service), Pulse Predictor (an onchain polling protocol), Pump Pals (a fantasy sports game), Blend (a yield-integration tool), and Sprout (a DeFi strategy manager).

The BLEND token serves as a utility token for network operations, including transaction fees, staking, and community signaling. Users can stake BLEND to access ecosystem benefits and improve their reputation tiers on Prints, Fluent’s reputation layer launched in January. Following the mainnet phase, protocol staking will allow holders to delegate tokens to validator nodes via FluentBFT, the protocol’s decentralized consensus mechanism. The public token sale on a major CEX’s platform ran from April 7 to April 13, offering 10 million tokens (1% of initial supply) at $0.10 per token, implying a $100 million fully diluted valuation. The initial BLEND supply is set at 1 billion tokens, with a community airdrop accounting for 0.71% scheduled for distribution at the token generation event.

Fluent Labs has raised $11.2 million to date. An $8 million seed round led by Polychain Capital closed in February 2025 with participation from Primitive, dao5, Symbolic Capital, Builder Capital, Nomad Capital, and Public Works. A $2.2 million testnet round followed in July 2025 through Echo, Native Crypto, Q42, Wagmi VC, and TPC Ventures, complemented by the $1 million public token sale completed in April 2026. A major CEX recently announced its intention to list BLEND, allowing users to generate deposit addresses in supported regions.
