Guangdong Registers 6 New Generative AI Services, Cumulative Total Reaches 47

Gate News message, April 20 — As of April 20, Guangdong province has registered six new generative AI services, bringing the cumulative total to 47 registered services, according to Guangdong’s cyberspace administration.

Under China’s “Interim Measures for the Management of Generative AI Services,” any generative AI service that calls already-registered large language models via API interfaces or other means and provides services with public opinion or social mobilization capabilities to domestic audiences must undergo a registration process through local cyberspace authorities. All deployed applications or features must display their registration numbers in prominent locations.
