Israeli Military Kills Multiple Hamas Commanders in Gaza Airstrikes

Gate News message, April 16 — The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on April 16 that it had killed multiple Hamas operatives in recent military operations in Gaza, including a communications department commander and two production department commanders.

On April 14, the IDF’s Southern Command launched an airstrike in Gaza City that killed Ahmad Abu Hadaira, Hamas’s communications department commander, who had been involved in planning attacks against Israeli forces. On April 13, a separate airstrike in Gaza City killed two senior Hamas production department members—Islam Hisham Riyad Kanita and Mahmoud Hamid Yousef Hamduna—who had participated in efforts to rebuild Hamas’s military capabilities during the ceasefire period.

The IDF Southern Command stated it would continue operations in the region to eliminate what it described as “imminent threats.”
