Gate News message, April 16 — NC announced today that it is implementing a mandatory real-name authentication system for Lineage Classic to combat illegal macros and improve the gaming environment. The company revealed the initiative through an official developer letter, describing it as “a minimum defense line to protect legitimate players.”
NC simultaneously announced the permanent suspension of approximately 150,000 abnormal accounts, citing recent server queue issues that have prevented normal player access. The developer team emphasized that the timing coincides with the upcoming “Dragon’s Nest” episode launch and expressed concern about the disruption caused by malicious users. Lineage Classic has now undergone a total of 63 enforcement actions against rule violators.
Additional measures include character creation restrictions on severely congested servers and enhanced monitoring of unauthorized third-party programs. The real-name authentication system will be integrated across multiple login channels, including Google, Apple, and social media accounts via Purple. NC warned that using, promoting, or distributing unauthorized programs could result in account information breaches and emphasized that such activities are not permitted.
The development team stated, “We believe that creating a fair and comfortable environment is our greatest responsibility,” and pledged to continue strengthening detection systems and conducting thorough verification processes to protect all legitimate players.
