On the X platform, reducing the distribution share for aggregated accounts to 60% will crack down on clickbait and reposted content.

GateNews

Gate News update, April 12, X platform product lead Nikita Bier said in a post that during this round of the creator revenue-share cycle, the revenue share for all aggregators has been reduced to 60%, and the next cycle will be reduced further by 20%. The platform believes this change is due to a clear phenomenon: a large number of accounts have flooded their timelines with daily reposts of stolen content and clickbait bait information, squeezing the exposure space of real creators and suppressing the growth of new authors. Next, the platform plans to impose a permanent revenue-share deduction on accounts that have been used to drive traffic using clickbaity tags such as “BREAKING” over the long term. X will not restrict speech or the reach of distribution, but it will not provide revenue compensation for manipulating distribution mechanisms or misleading user behavior.
