Tesla Currently Has No Mass Production Plan for Humanoid Robots at Shanghai Gigafactory

Gate News message, April 20 — Tesla China clarified on April 20 that the company currently has no specific plans to mass-produce humanoid robots at its Shanghai Gigafactory. Tesla Vice President Wang Hao noted at a media event that the Shanghai facility possesses strong mass production capabilities and significant potential for future development.

Tesla’s third-generation humanoid robot is scheduled for release by the end of 2026. The company is currently converting its Model S and Model X production lines at the Fremont factory into humanoid robot production lines, with final production capacity planned to reach one million units annually.
